A good commercial cleaning helps to give workers a more open and less hectic environment; additionally, a clean and welcoming place of business helps to attract customers. Here is a list of some important areas to inspect during your deep cleaning:   

OUTSIDE

  • Windows

Windows are one of the simplest yet crucial areas to keep clean.  Beyond making sure you have squeaky clean windows, check to make sure they have tight seals.  Small gaps in window seals can cause cool air to seep out (and warm air in the winter months), as well as allowing water to trickle in. Checking caulking and weather stripping remains intact and up to par can save you money in the long term. 

  • Landscaping

What To Expect When Your Apartment Building Floods

When the fire sprinkler system accidentally goes off or a water heater malfunctions on the 10th floor of an apartment building, the water damage can be extensive and overwhelming. A water loss in an apartment building can quickly become a literal disaster. Here, we will review what to expect if there is flooding in your apartment building. 

1.  Water Damaged Ceilings

When you live in or manage a multi-level building and there is flooding on one of the upper floors, you can expect widespread ceiling water damage. Water will have nowhere to go but down, seeping through carpet, hardwood, penetrating subfloors, and make its way to the apartments below. 

2.  Water Damage to Floors 

Expect to replace and dry wet carpets or pull up hardwood floors.

3.  Electrical Issues

Keeping your business or commercial property safe and sound is necessary in operating smoothly. Many buildings have preexisting small issues that have the capacity to turn into larger ones if not taken care of properly or soon enough. 

We have highlighted some of the issues that occur most frequently in commercial buildings. Be sure that your building has been inspected for these issues. In the even of finding any of these, do your best to get them fixed in a timely manner. Not addressing them soon enough could result in costly damage happening down the road.

Leaks - Whether you have a leak in your roof, foundation, or pipes, water can accumulate in areas of your building. Sedentary moisture almost always leads to rotting wood, foul odors, and mold growth.

Asbestos - Although not used in construction anymore, older buildings may still have asbestos present. Exposure to asbestos is extremely dangerous and must be taken care of if found in exposed areas in your home.

With the recent wildfires in Washington, Oregon, and California we have experienced some amazing sunsets but we’ve also been engulfed in poor air quality for more days than your HVAC is used to.

Each time one of your valued customers walks in the door, or your team leaves and enters the office, pollutants from the wildfire smoke have the opportunity to enter your facility and infiltrate your HVAC system. 

Smoke is naturally attracted to metal surfaces and is corrosive in nature.  As the smoke particulates enter your facility and travel to the air ducts, they cling to the steel and absorb into the debris within the air duct system. At home, it’s easy to cut down on your water usage.  You can easily take shorter showers or turn the faucet off while you brush your teeth. a business setting is more difficult. There are a few measures you can take to reduce water consumption at your business, which will save you money.

You might have seen touch-free faucets that spray water for a short period of time before turning off.  You can install these in your business. It might be a bit expensive at first, but it should save you money in the long run. Manufacturers claim that automatic faucets can save up to 80% of water per faucet installed. 

Additionally, using the newer faucet aerators can save money too.   4. Respect the marks don’t move them or adjust them in anyway
  5. Dig with care, when getting close to markers it is best to use hand tools.
